For The Couch Potato: Thick Cut Fries

Ingredients For Thick Cut Fries
- 2 large Jack Russet potatoes
- Vegetable oil
- Salt & pepper
How to Prepare Thick Cut Fries
- Cut your potatoes into uniform pieces so it cooks evenly. Peeling is optional. If you do not peel the potatoes, scrub them well before cutting.
- Add potatoes to a small but deep saucepan filled with cold water and bring to a boil. Let it sit for five minutes and then remove the potatoes and air dry them on paper towels.
- Lay them out on a tray and drizzle with oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
- Bake at 200 degrees Celsius for 20 – 30 minutes or until golden brown.
For The Meat Lover: Buffalo Wings

Ingredients for making Buffalo Wings
- 900g chicken wings
- ¾ cup cornstarch
- ¼ cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 2 teaspoon black pepper
- Vegetable oil
- ⅓ cup of unsalted butter
- ⅔ cups hot sauce
Steps for Making The Perfect Buffalo Wings
- Toss ¼ cup of cornstarch and the chicken wings together until fully coated.
- Let rest and dry out for 15 minutes while you prepare the batter.
- Whisk together the remaining ½ cup of cornstarch, flour, paprika, garlic powder, cayenne, baking powder, salt, and pepper.
- Gradually add the water and whisk until mixture is smooth but slightly runny.
- Heat the oil in a large pot until it reaches 180°C (if you don’t have a cooking thermometer, stick a wooden chopstick into the wok or pan and if it bubbles, it’s hot enough)
- Coat chicken wings in the batter and add the wings to the oil in batches, cooking for 8-10 minutes until golden brown and set aside to cool.
- To make the buffalo sauce, just melt the butter over a low heat in a pan before adding the hot sauce, garlic powder and cayenne pepper.
- Bring it to a low simmer and add some salt and pepper to taste.
- Let the sauce cool and drizzle the cooked wings with about a half cup of the homemade buffalo sauce and toss it to coat them evenly.
For The Health Conscious: Granola Bars

Granola Bars Ingredients
- 1 cup dates, pitted
- 1 cup dried cranberries
- 1½ cups oats
- ¼ cup honey
- ¼ cup peanut butter
How to Make Granola Bars
- Line a baking pan with parchment paper.
- Chop the cranberries and dates to your desired consistency and place together with the oats in a large bowl.
- Heat the honey and peanut butter over a low flame with a splash of water.
- Pour the honey and peanut butter mixture over the bowl of dates, oats and cranberries. Use a wooden spoon to stir to mixture together.
- Transfer the mixture to the prepared pan and spread it into an even, compact layer.
- Store in the fridge to firm and slice into bars of your preferred size.
- Store bars in room temperature for up to a week, or in the freezer for up to 2 months.
