Handling And Storage

Keep the cylinder upright at all times.
If the cylinder is kept lying down, liquid may escape instead of vapour, thus creating a greater hazard.
Place the gas cylinder upright in a well-ventilated area, and be sure to keep it away from heat and sources of ignition.
Do not place the cylinder near a smoking area or open burning area.
Do not change cylinders near sources of ignition. Keep the cylinders away from a naked flame or a lighted cigarette as they could ignite any gas that is released.
Installation
Ensure size or diameter of gas hose is correct.
Do not use a hose that does not fit the gas regulator correctly.
Use a SIRIM-certified gas hose (BS 3212, MS 773 or MS2086:2008 standard). Check its condition regularly.
Replace any damaged or worn hose with a new hose (every 2-3 years), depending on storage conditions and how often you cook.
Use hose specially designed for LPG with factory-crimped end connections.
Never use a hose without a clip that is just pushed over the nozzle of the regulator or the appliance.
Use the correct regulator and check its condition regularly.
Use hose and regulators that are distributed by authorised MiraGas distributors.
Gas regulator should be replaced every 4-5 years, depending on storage conditions and how often you cook.
Usage
Open the gas regulator/valve. Light the gas stove; light the lighter first if your gas appliance does not have automatic ignition or pilot light.
Use MiraGas cylinders in a well-ventilated room; do not use it in sealed environments or basements.
Gas consumes oxygen when it burns and so it must be used in a well-ventilated area to prevent a mishap.
Do not place hot items on the gas cylinder. They may damage either the gas regulator or hose.
Never leave cooking unattended under any circumstances.
If a cooking pot boils over, it can put out the flame and may cause gas build-up.
Turn off cylinder valve/regulator and gas appliance after use.
If gas will not be used for a prolonged period, remove the gas regulator from the cylinder and replace it with the MiraGas Blue safety cap (MiraGas exclusive feature) on the cylinder.
Check for gas leaks from time to time using soapy water. NEVER use a naked flame.
MiraGas has a distinctive smell that indicates the presence of a gas leak.
Soapy water will bubble when applied to the area or connection with gas leak.
WHAT TO DO WHEN THERE IS A
SUSPECTED/CONFIRMED GAS LEAK?
In the event of suspected gas leakage or has a very distinctive smell, extinguish all naked flames and ignition sources, turn off all gas appliances and immediately disconnect the gas regulator.
DO NOT switch any electrical equipment on or off, including the lights.
DO NOT turn on the gas supply until it has been pronounced safe by a competent person.
If the gas leak occurs indoors, open all doors and windows to disperse the gas.
If condition is safe, move the cylinder outdoors to an open space away from people, buildings, drains and sources of ignition.
Notify your gas supplier or call our friendly MiraGas Customer Service Team at 1- 300-88-5808.
If the gas leaks from the gas regulator or the gas cylinder valve, disconnect the gas regulator and replace it with the blue Safety Cap and move the cylinder to a well- ventilated open area.
WHAT TO DO WHEN
THERE IS A FIRE?
Call the Fire Emergency Services immediately and inform them that there are gas cylinders on the premises.

Turn off the gas supply if it is practicable and safe to do so.
Remove the gas cylinder from the vicinity of fire if it is safe to do so.
DO NOT approach a cylinder in the vicinity of fire if it is NOT safe to do so.
In case of fire due to gas leakage, stop the source of the gas leakage before extinguishing the fire, only if it is safe to do so.
If the leakage cannot be stopped, consider allowing the fire to burn away until the source can be isolated. Do not turn on the gas supply until it has been pronounced safe by a competent person.
WHAT TO DO
WITH EMPTY CYLINDER?
Return the empty cylinder to your MiraGas supplier.
Do not dispose of empty gas cylinders in domestic or industrial waste facilities.
Do not cut, pierce or burn gas cylinders, even after use.
Do not use the cylinders for any purpose other than what it is intended for.
